After years of hard work, China has become the world's second-largest economy and a significant participant in global trade. China's modernization has continuously improved its economic development level, optimized its industrial structure, promoted integrated urban-rural development, and driven international economic cooperation and competition, injecting strong momentum into global economic growth. Moreover, China's modernization has had a significant impact on globalization. China actively participates in international affairs, promoting international economic cooperation and development, and maintaining world peace and stability. The success of China's modernization has made China one of the world's most important international partners, providing valuable experience and inspiration for other developing countries and offering assistance and support for their modernization journeys. In the decades since the founding of the People's Republic of China, the country has experienced many important events, including the 'Great Leap Forward' and the 'Cultural Revolution,' which have had a significant impact on China's modernization. However, since the reform and opening up, China's modernization has achieved numerous accomplishments, the most prominent being the rapid development of its economy. Since the reform and opening up, China's economy has grown at an average annual rate of approximately 9%, making it one of the world's largest economies. China's foreign trade has also been tremendously successful, making it one of the world's largest trading nations. Simultaneously, China is playing a significant role in the global financial arena and has established its own international monetary system. Secondly, China has made significant progress in the field of science and technology. For example, in the 5G field, China has taken the lead and has built the world's largest 5G network. It has made significant progress in standardization, technological research, and industrial applications. As of 2021, China has more than 700,000 5G base stations, and this number continues to grow. China's 5G technology has become a global standard and is being promoted and applied worldwide. Finally, China's influence in international affairs is steadily increasing. China is one of the permanent members of the UN Security Council and one of the world's largest developing countries. China is playing an increasingly important role in international affairs, playing a crucial role in maintaining world peace and stability. Moreover, China actively participates in global governance, putting forward a series of important initiatives, such as the 'Belt and Road' initiative, the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, and the BRICS mechanism, making significant contributions to promoting global cooperation. However, China's modernization still faces numerous challenges in the future. Firstly, China needs to focus on addressing the issue of an aging population. In 2019, China's population aged 65 and over reached 164 million, accounting for 11.9% of the total population. In 1982, this proportion was only 4.9%. It is estimated that by 2050, China's population aged 65 and over will reach 400 million, accounting for about 27% of the total population, exceeding the aging levels of Europe and North America. This severe aging phenomenon will put enormous pressure on socioeconomic development and national finances, requiring a joint response from the government and all sectors of society. Secondly, China needs to continue to advance technological innovation.
