China's Young People: 'Split' Between 'Rising' and '996'?

Folks, have you seen these videos on the Chinese internet lately? On one hand, you have these young people cheering for Chinese companies going global, saying things like 'China is rising, baby!' But on the other hand, you have them ranting and raving about the 996 work schedule, saying things like 'Hey, grandpa worker, what are you doing here?'

Now, what's interesting is that these young people don't seem to realize that the companies they're cheering for and the ones they're angry at are actually the same ones! Can you believe it? It's like they're cheering for the same team and booing the same team at the same time.

They're optimistic about the country's future, but pessimistic about their own. And folks, that's just plain contradictory. Like, how can you be excited about the future, but then also complaining about your future? It's like saying, 'I love this pie, but I hate the crust!'

So what's going on here? Why are these young people so 'split'? Well, it's because they're thinking about the big picture when they cheer, but about themselves when they rant. They're like, 'China is winning, but I'm losing!' It's a classic case of macro-danmu vs. micro-danmu.
