DeGrom Struggles in Rangers Debut Despite Reaching 100 mph

New York Mets pitcher Jacob deGrom was not thrilled with his performance in his debut game against the Texas Rangers. He gave up three runs, two of which were home runs, in four innings. DeGrom struggled with his command, throwing 59 pitches in the first two innings. Despite the shaky start, deGrom's fastball still reached 100 mph and he struck out six batters. The Mets ultimately lost the game 4-1. DeGrom's performance was not all bad, as he did not allow a hit after the second inning. He also showed no signs of discomfort after suffering from right forearm tightness in his last start. DeGrom is a two-time Cy Young award winner and is widely considered one of the best pitchers in baseball. The Mets will look to bounce back in their next game against the Rangers.
