什么是 Despite

Despite 是一个常用的英语单词，意为‘尽管’，常用于表达一种对比或者矛盾的关系。在句子中，通常位于句首，后面跟随一个名词或者动词的-ing形式，用于表达一种限制或者否定的意思。

使用 Despite 的几种情况

1. 使用 Despite 表达对比关系，表示一种不同于预期的情况。例如：Despite the rain, we still went hiking. 尽管下雨，我们还是去了徒步旅行。

2. 使用 Despite 表达限制，表示某种条件或者原因并没有阻碍某种行为或者结果的发生。例如：Despite his lack of experience, he managed to finish the project on time. 尽管他缺乏经验，他还是在时间内完成了项目。

注意事项

1. Despite 后面通常跟随名词或者动词-ing形式，不可直接跟随句子或者从句。例如：Despite the fact that he was tired, he kept working. (正确) Despite that he was tired, he kept working. (错误)

2. Despite 和 although 的用法类似，但是 Despite 更强调矛盾和对比的关系，而 although 更强调条件和限制的关系。例如：Despite the cold weather, we still had a good time. (对比) Although it was cold, we still had a good time. (限制)
