什么是Despite？

Despite是英语中的一个介词，用来表示‘尽管’、‘不顾’、‘虽然’等意思。它可以连接两个句子，表达其中一个句子的情况并不影响另一个句子的情况。

Despite的用法

Despite可以接名词、代词、动名词和从句等作为介词的宾语。例如，‘Despite the rain, we still went for a walk.’（尽管下雨，我们还是去散步了。）

在句子中，Despite一般位于句首，后面跟着名词或者动名词短语。例如，‘Despite his illness, he still managed to finish the project on time.’（尽管他生病了，他还是在规定时间内完成了这个项目。）

另外，Despite也可以与in spite of互换使用，两者意思相同。

Despite的注意事项

当使用Despite时，需要注意的是，它是一个介词，后面必须接名词、代词、动名词等，而不能接动词原形。

例如，‘Despite to study hard, she failed the exam.’这样的句子是错误的，应该改为‘Despite studying hard, she failed the exam.’
