Despite 与 Although 的区别

尽管 despite 和 although 都可以表示 '虽然' 的意思，但是它们的使用方式有所不同。虽然 although 通常放置在句子的开头，但是它的后面需要使用一个完整的从句。例如：

Although it was raining heavily, they still decided to go out.

而 despite 则不需要使用一个完整的从句，只需要使用一个名词或者动名词即可。例如：

Despite the heavy rain, they still decided to go out.
