什么是despite

‘Despite’ 是一个英语单词，意为‘尽管’，通常用于表示一种对比或矛盾关系。当我们想要表达某种情况或现象在某些条件下仍然发生时，可以使用despite。

despite 通常后面接一个名词或名词性短语，表示尽管某种情况存在，但另一种情况仍然发生。例如：

除了接名词外，despite还可以接一个从句，例如：

despite和in spite of的意思是相同的，都表示‘尽管’，但是用法略有不同。in spite of后面通常接一个名词词组或动名词，而despite则可以接名词、名词性短语或从句。

例如：

In spite of the rain, we went for a walk.（尽管下雨了，我们还是去散步了。）

Despite the rain, we went for a walk.（尽管下雨了，我们还是去散步了。）

注意，despite和in spite of后面都不需要加介词。
