什么是Despite

Despite是英语中的一个介词，表示‘尽管’，也可用于连接两个分句，用于强调某种对比。

Despite与In spite of的区别

Despite和In spite of是非常相似的词，但两者的用法略有不同。In spite of通常放在句首，后面接名词或动名词，如‘In spite of the rain, we went to the beach.’而Despite则可以放在句首或中间，后面接名词、代词、动名词等，如‘Despite the fact that it was raining, we went to the beach.’

Despite的用法

1. Despite + 名词：Despite the bad weather, we went out for a walk.（尽管天气不好，我们还是出去散步了。）

2. Despite + 代词：Despite his illness, he continued to work.（尽管他生病了，他还是继续工作。）

3. Despite + 动名词：Despite being tired, she kept on running.（尽管疲劳，她还是继续跑步。）

4. Despite + 从句：Despite the fact that he was busy, he managed to finish the project on time.（尽管他很忙，他还是在规定时间内完成了项目。）

注意事项

1. Despite后面的名词或代词要使用形容词性物主代词，如‘Despite their efforts, they failed.’

2. Despite和In spite of一样，都是比较正式的用语，平时口语中多使用though或although。
