什么是despite？

Despite是一个介词，意为'尽管'，用于表达两种相反的事物同时存在，但一个事物不影响另一个事物的情况。

despite的用法

1. Despite后面接名词或代词作宾语，表示'尽管……'。

例如：Despite the rain, we still went for a walk.（尽管下雨，我们还是去散步了。）

2. Despite后面也可以接动名词或从句，表示'尽管……'。

例如：Despite feeling unwell, she went to work.（尽管感觉不舒服，她还是去上班了。）

3. Despite可以和in spite of互换使用，意思相同。

例如：In spite of the bad weather, they still had a great time.（尽管天气不好，他们还是玩得很开心。）

despite的注意点

1. Despite在句子中常常放在主语之后，也可以放在句首。

例如：Despite her busy schedule, she still found time to exercise. / She still found time to exercise despite her busy schedule.（尽管她的日程很忙，她还是找到时间锻炼了。）

2. Despite后面的名词或代词通常是单数形式。

例如：Despite the teacher's absence, the students studied hard.（尽管老师缺席，学生们还是很努力学习了。）

3. Despite不能和but连用。

例如：Despite the rain, but we still went for a walk.（错误）
