什么是Despite？

Despite是一个常用的英语词汇，表示‘尽管’、‘不顾’、‘虽然’，常用于表达对比、让步、强调等语境中。

Despite与Although的区别

尽管Despite与Although都有‘尽管’的意思，但它们在语法上有所不同。虽然它们的意思相同，但Despite后面所接的词组或从句，没有像Although那样需要加一个完整的主句作为前提。比如：

Despite the rain, we went out. （尽管下雨，我们还是出去了。）

Although it was raining, we went out. （虽然下雨，我们还是出去了。）

Despite的用法举例

1. Despite the fact that he is old, he still works hard. （尽管他年纪大了，他仍然很努力工作。）

2. Despite being tired, I went to the gym. （尽管很累，我还是去了健身房。）

3. Despite the difficulties, they managed to finish the project. （尽管有困难，他们还是成功完成了项目。）

注意事项

1. Despite后面一般接名词、代词、动名词或从句。

2. Despite通常出现在句首，也可以出现在句中。如果出现在句中，需要用逗号与前后句子隔开。

3. Despite的同义词包括：in spite of, regardless of等。
