什么是 Despite

Despite 是一个常用的英语单词，意为‘尽管，虽然’，表示一种对比关系。在英语写作中，使用 Despite 可以使得表达更加丰富、生动。

Despite 的用法

Despite 通常用于句子开头，后面跟着一个名词或动名词短语，表示虽然存在某种情况，但是另一种情况仍然发生。例如：

Despite the rain, we still went for a walk.（尽管下雨，我们还是出去散步了。）

Despite feeling tired, she continued to work.（尽管感觉累，她还是继续工作了。）

Despite 与 In spite of 的区别

Despite 和 In spite of 在意思上没有太大区别，都表示‘尽管，虽然’。但是它们的用法有一些区别。In spite of 后面通常跟着一个名词，而 Despite 后面可以跟着一个名词或动名词短语。例如：

In spite of the rain, we still went for a walk.（尽管下雨，我们还是出去散步了。）

Despite feeling tired, she continued to work.（尽管感觉累，她还是继续工作了。）

另外，Despite 的后面也可以跟着一个从句，而 In spite of 则不可以。例如：

Despite the fact that it was raining, we still went for a walk.（尽管下雨了，我们还是出去散步了。）
