Chapter 3: Integrating ARIMA and LSTM Algorithms for GPU Resource Prediction
3.1 Introduction In the fields of data science, artificial intelligence, and machine learning, time series analysis is an extremely important task aimed at predicting constantly evolving data. Traditionally, time series analysis based on the ARIMA (Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average) algorithm has been widely used to predict future trends. However, due to the better temporal nature and ability to handle long sequences of the LSTM (Long-Short Term Memory) algorithm, it has also been widely used in this field in recent years. By combining the advantages of ARIMA and LSTM algorithms, we can improve the predictive accuracy and precision of time series data and provide support for early scheduling of GPU resources, thereby improving system resource utilization and performance. This chapter will describe how to use ARIMA and LSTM algorithms to create a GPU resource prediction model and integrate both algorithms to improve the system's predictive ability.
3.2 ARIMA Algorithm Firstly, we use the ARIMA algorithm to fit and predict historical data, obtaining the future demand for resources. The ARIMA algorithm takes time series data as input and describes the time series through three parameters: p, d, and q. The parameter p represents the number of autoregressive terms in the autoregressive part of the sequence, which represents the number of autoregressive terms in the autoregressive part of the sequence; the parameter d represents the number of times the non-stationary time series is differentiated for each time interval, that is, the difference is transformed into a stationary time series; and the parameter q represents the number of moving average terms in the model's random error. We can use the ARIMA algorithm to predict the trend of future GPU resource demand, obtaining the basic prediction result.
3.3 LSTM Algorithm Next, we use the LSTM algorithm to further optimize and adjust the basic prediction result to improve predictive accuracy. LSTM is a type of RNN (Recurrent Neural Network) model specifically designed to handle long sequences and maintain long-term memory. By introducing memory units in the model, LSTM can capture long-term dependencies in sequence data and avoid the problems of gradient vanishing or explosion in model training. Therefore, LSTM algorithm performs well in handling long sequence data and is often used to predict future trends. We can input the prediction result obtained by the ARIMA algorithm into the LSTM model to further optimize and adjust the prediction result, improving predictive accuracy.
3.4 Integration of ARIMA and LSTM Algorithms Finally, we integrate the prediction results of both algorithms and use this model to implement GPU resource scheduling. By applying the methods mentioned in this chapter to GPU resource prediction, we can better control the use of GPU resources, thereby improving system resource utilization and performance.
3.5 Conclusion This chapter has described how to integrate ARIMA and LSTM algorithms to establish a GPU resource prediction model to improve the system's predictive ability and resource utilization. In this prediction model, we first use the ARIMA algorithm to fit and predict historical data, obtaining the basic prediction result. Then, we use the LSTM algorithm to further optimize and adjust the basic prediction result to improve predictive accuracy. Finally, we integrate the prediction results of both algorithms and use this model to implement GPU resource prediction and scheduling. This model can not only improve system resource utilization and performance but also has broad application prospects in the field of time series analysis.
