Soil Classification and Diagnostic Features of Lou Soil in China
(2) The study area comprised 54 Lou soil profiles, categorized as brown soil subclass and yellow soil subclass. Based on the soil occurrence classification in China, these profiles belonged to various soil types, including oil soil, Honglou soil, Huche soil, Lou clay soil, standing soil, red soil, black soil, gray soil, and yellow soil.
(3) The typical Lou soil profile in the study area was analyzed using the Chinese Soil Systematic Classification Retrieval (3rd Edition). This analysis revealed the presence of 5 Diagnostic horizons: Cumulic epipedon, Ochric epipedon, Argic horizon, Calcic horizon, and Cambic horizon. Additionally, 3 Diagnostic evidence were identified: Cumulic evidence, Fimic evidence, and Calcic evidence. Four Diagnostic characteristics were also observed: Calcaric property, Mesic temperature regime, Ustic moisture regime, and Redoxic features.
