Lou Soil Classification and Utilization Performance: A Comprehensive Study
This paper examined 54 typical Lou soil profiles to identify their diagnostic horizons and characteristics. The majority of the profiles were classified as Anthrosols with Cumulic epipedon, followed by Argosols with Argic horizon and Cambosols. The basic classification unit of Lou soil was divided into three Suborders, four groups, and seven subgroups. The soil profile was further divided into 17 Soil families and 54 Soil series. A comparison with the Chinese Soil Taxonomy showed that most soil types corresponded to Lou soil. The quantitative classification of the reaction systematic classification was found to be more accurate in reflecting the soil attributes of different regions.
A classification system for Lou soil was established, and the soil utilization performance under different soil families was analyzed. The study suggests that selecting the appropriate soil testing formula and crop varieties, improving agricultural production infrastructure, optimizing field management measures, and paying attention to green environmental protection and mitigation can help improve the cultivation quality of farmland and production efficiency in different regions with Lou soil.
