This study analyzed soil groups, soil obstacle factors, and the applicability of crop growth, and proposed utilization measures and improvement schemes based on local conditions. This provided a theoretical basis for achieving high yields of food crops and a reference for the development of the soil classification system in China.

The results showed that Lou soil in Guanzhong had loess as the parent material and an A-B or A-B-C profile configuration. The soil texture was mainly silty loam and silty clay loam, and the color difference between dry and moist sections was noticeable. The soil was alkaline with a pH value of 6.3~9.50, and the soil organic carbon content was 1.67~20.5g kg-1. The total nitrogen content was 0.257~2.19g kg-1, and the available phosphorus content was 0.182~229.66mg kg-1. The study also observed pseudo mycelium or cream-like lime aggregates, clay adhesive film, humus adhesive film, and new bodies of the tattoo class in the profile.

Overall, this research provides valuable insights into the characteristics and properties of Lou soil in Guanzhong, and proposes measures to improve its utilization and enhance crop growth.
