The Great Wall of China: A Historical Marvel

The Great Wall of China is one of the world's greatest wonders. Every year, millions of people visit the Great Wall. During peak seasons, several famous spots are always crowded with hordes of tourists. The history of the Chinese building walls dates back to the Warring States period. In total, China has built approximately 20 Great Walls throughout history. Among all these walls, the Ming Great Wall is the longest, stretching 6700 kilometers. At that time, Chinese technology was at the forefront in the world, so the structure of the Ming Great Wall was also the most complex. The construction of the Ming Great Wall was aimed at defending against invasions from nomadic tribes in the north. After the establishment of the Qing Dynasty, as its founders were also nomadic tribes, they felt there was no need to continue building the Great Wall. However, the Qing government still issued laws to protect the Great Wall, prohibiting its demolition. Nevertheless, the passage of time and continuous wars caused serious damage to the accessible parts of the wall.
