Dietary Analysis of Native and Non-Native Fish Species in the Lhasa River Basin using Microscopy and DNA Barcoding
This research employed microscopy and DNA barcoding techniques to analyze the dietary habits of three non-native fish species and three native fish species in the Lhasa River Basin. The study aimed to determine the dietary overlap and competition between these species and to evaluate the effectiveness of DNA metabarcoding for understanding the nutritional ecology of high-altitude fish. The results provide valuable insights into the ecological interactions within the Lhasa River ecosystem and demonstrate the potential of DNA metabarcoding as a powerful tool for studying fish diets in challenging environments.
