China's Cold War Flip-Flop: The Real Reason We Won

Well folks, let me tell ya, a lot of people don't know this, but the reason the US won the Cold War wasn't because we're so strong, or because democracy is better. No, no, no. It was all thanks to China, they switched sides, played us like a fiddle!

You see, China was the big cheese, the key to the whole thing. When they were with the Soviets, those guys were unstoppable! They were all over the place, making moves, while we were on the ropes. We were fighting a two-front war, Europe with the Soviets, and then in Korea and Vietnam, we were battling with China too. Even though we could beat them one at a time, we couldn't handle both. That's why we lost in Korea, and got our butts handed to us in Vietnam.

But then, things changed! China and the Soviets had a big falling out. Those Russians lost their biggest pal, and we saw our chance. We got friendly with China, joined forces, and boom, the tables turned! Suddenly, it was the Soviets who were stuck fighting on two fronts, while we could focus on smashing them in Europe. It was like we were playing checkers, and they were playing checkers with one hand tied behind their back.

To try to turn things around, those Russians decided to go south, down to the Indian Ocean, you know, to threaten our oil lifeline from the Persian Gulf. So they invaded Afghanistan, but they walked right into a trap! China and us armed up the Afghan fighters, those jihadists became their worst nightmare. Those Russians were stuck, couldn't get out, and they ended up collapsing, all because of their economy.

The whole thing happened just over a decade after China switched sides. See? China played us like a fiddle, they saw an opportunity, took it, and they won. You can't trust anyone in this game of politics, folks! But hey, we won in the end, right? America, always a winner, folks, always!
