The TGA curves reveal the thermal decomposition process of GO, JS-C12, and JS@GO. The weight loss of the three samples at 100°C is attributed to the evaporation of adsorbed water and interlayer water. The weight loss in the second stage (200-400°C) is mainly due to the decomposition of oxygen-containing functional groups, such as hydroxyl, carboxyl, and carbonyl groups. Additionally, the weight loss in the third stage is concentrated at 500–600°C, which is caused by the decomposition of alkyl chains. Compared to the GO curve, the introduction of JS-C12 in JS@GO enhances the overall hydrophobicity of the nanomaterial. The reduced weight loss of JS@GO in this stage indicates the successful introduction of JS-C12 on the surface of GO.
