Electrocoagulation-Coupled Catalytic Ozonation for Efficient Degradation of IBP in Pharmaceutical Wastewater
Moreover, the inclusion of electrocoagulation can substantially enhance the generation of hydroxyl radicals while maintaining the same level of ozone consumption, resulting in a greater utilization of hydroxyl radicals during the IBP degradation process. The combination of electrocoagulation and catalytic ozonation yielded an approximate 26% enhancement in IBP degradation efficiency compared to ozonation alone. The electrocoagulation-coupled catalytic ozonation process presents a feasible technology for the treatment of IBP in pharmaceutical wastewater.
