Nowadays, having a baby is basically charity work. Back in the day, having a few extra kids didn't cost much, it just meant adding a few more chopsticks to the dinner table. Because back then, raising a child didn't cost a lot of money. And every extra child you had could start working at 13 or 14, meaning every extra child was like an extra labor force. Plus, they could earn money for the family. But now, raising a child is not so simple. You have to take care of them meticulously, meaning you're cultivating a useful member of society. Because now, raising a child costs so much. You have to pay for their nutrition, education, and even their allowance when they grow up. And when they get married, you have to buy them a house and a car. Nowadays, parents basically have no expectations for their children. They don't even expect them to take care of them when they're old. So, having a baby is basically a charitable contribution to society. Think of it like a donation to a worthy cause, but instead of a tax write-off, you get a tiny human who might (or might not) eventually buy you a nice retirement home. It's a gamble, folks, but hey, at least you're doing your part for the future! 😉
