In their study, Xue Jiaxin and colleagues (2021) utilized the APSIM model to analyze the relationship between irrigation amounts and timing during different typical years, and crop yield and water use efficiency. The results demonstrated that irrigation of 75mm during winter wheat sowing, jointing, and flowering periods was the appropriate irrigation measure for achieving high yields and water conservation in the North China Plain for dry, moderate, and humid years, respectively.
