Electrospinning for Enhanced Thermal Management in Polymer Composites: A Review
Thermal management is crucial for the efficient functioning of electronic and electrical equipment, as well as for preventing high-temperature injuries. As a result, there has been a significant focus on thermal regulation worldwide. This review article examines how electrospinning (e-spinning) can be utilized in the thermal management of polymer matrix composites, with a particular emphasis on enhanced thermal conductivity, thermal insulation, and passive daytime radiative cooling (PDRC).
When it comes to regulating thermal conductivity, e-spinning can be used to uniformly distribute active fillers in composites, allowing for bidirectional control. This article discusses the types of active fillers that can be used, as well as their connection forms in the composites. Additionally, the article highlights the benefits of PDRC, which does not require energy consumption.
Finally, the article discusses the current challenges and future developments in this area.
