This study employed two complementary approaches, text mining and phylogenetic regression, to explore the traditional Chinese medicinal properties of Fritillaria cirrhosa. Text mining analysis revealed a high frequency of F. cirrhosa use in treating cough, phlegm, and respiratory disorders, indicating its potential therapeutic value in these conditions. Phylogenetic regression analysis further confirmed these findings, highlighting a strong association between F. cirrhosa and the lung meridian (Σwi = 0.99), supporting its efficacy in respiratory ailments. Additionally, the high likelihood of cough-stopping and pant-relieving action (Σwi = 0.99) and heat-clearing action (Σwi = 0.98) suggests potential therapeutic benefits for alleviating cough and phlegm-related symptoms. Furthermore, F. cirrhosa exhibited associations with the spleen meridian (Σwi = 0.87) and kidney meridian (Σwi = 0.74), suggesting its potential role in regulating the functions of these organs. These findings provide evidence for the traditional use of F. cirrhosa in treating respiratory and other related disorders, suggesting its potential as a therapeutic agent in modern medicine.
