The dimensional emotion model suggests that emotions are continuous and interconnected. The commonly used dimensional model is Russell's Emotion Dimension Model [45], which maps emotions onto a two- or three-dimensional coordinate system, providing a method for quantifying emotions. The two dimensions of the two-dimensional model are valence and arousal. Valence describes the pleasantness of the emotion and can be divided into positive and negative emotions, while arousal describes the degree of activation of the emotion and can be divided into calm and excitement.
