Volkswagen Recalls 143,000 Atlas SUVs for Airbag Sensor Issue

Volkswagen is recalling 143,000 of its big Atlas SUVs in the US because a faulty sensor on the front passenger side can switch the airbag system off under certain conditions. Until it's fixed, VW is advising owners to avoid letting people ride in that seat. The recall affects certain 2018-2019 Atlas models. VW says it's not aware of any accidents or injuries related to the issue. The automaker will replace the sensor free of charge. Owners can contact their local dealer to schedule a repair.
