Impact of Suboptimal Segmentation on OBB Enclosing Box Algorithm for Cobb and AVR Angle Measurement
In this study, we examined the impact of suboptimal segmentation outcomes on the performance of the oriented bounding box (OBB) enclosing box algorithm. As depicted in the figure, the OBB envelope box erroneously fuses two vertebrae that ought to be distinguished due to the inadequate segmentation of the space between them. This issue has a deleterious effect on the angular computations that follow. Thus, attaining precise segmentation outcomes is of paramount importance for the accurate measurement of Cobb angles and AVR angles in CT images.
