Based on Figure 2.6, it can be seen that the yield of cellulose begins to decline after the water bath time exceeds 30 minutes. There is no significant difference in the effect of water bath time on cellulose yield between 1-3 hours. This may be due to the fact that after 30 minutes, cellulose has been largely extracted. As time goes on, too much cellulose dissolved in the mixed alkali solution can lead to a certain degree of degradation, resulting in a decrease in cellulose extraction rate (Duan et al., 2022). In order to ensure the yield of cellulose and avoid the problems of excessive energy consumption, cellulose degradation and yield reduction, we fixed the reaction time at 30 minutes in the subsequent experiments.
