Topdressing: The Barrier to Water Flow on Golf Greens

This is what we call 'topdressing' in the industry, as well as other sand particles blown in from sand pits, and discoloration that won't accumulate in low-lying areas of the green. This will cause it to rise over the years, forming this barrier, so surface water cannot flow through.
