The Impact of Intelligent Development on Human Capital Mismatch in Chinese Cities: A Chain Intermediary Effect and Spatial Analysis

This study has identified indicators for intelligent development across three dimensions, namely conditions, application, and technology. Our research aims to assess the progress of China's cities in terms of intelligent development from 2011 to 2019. Utilizing a chain intermediary effect model and spatial model, we have discovered that intelligent development possesses the capability to mitigate human capital mismatch, with the most substantial contribution stemming from enhancements in infrastructure. This positive impact is achieved through two pathways, namely income structure adjustment and factor flow. Regions with comparable economic bases experience the positive spillover effect of mismatch correction, while geographical proximity intensifies the degree of mismatch due to the siphon effect.
