The Impact of Intelligent Development on Human Capital Mismatch in Chinese Cities: A Spatial Analysis

Indicators representing intelligent development were selected from three dimensions, including conditions, application, and technology, to evaluate the intelligent development of Chinese cities from 2011 to 2019. Utilizing the chain intermediary effect model and spatial model, it was discovered that intelligent development can reduce the mismatch of human capital. The most significant contribution to this reduction came from the condition of intelligent development, specifically the enhancement of infrastructure. This positive impact was observed through two pathways, namely income structure adjustment and factor flow. Areas with a shared economic base experienced a positive spillover effect of mismatch correction, while the proximity of geographical location exacerbated the degree of mismatch due to the siphon effect.
