The Impact of Intelligent Development on Human Capital Mismatch in Chinese Cities: A Spatial and Intermediary Effect Analysis

We have identified indicators that reflect intelligent development across three dimensions - conditions, application, and technology - and have conducted an evaluation of China's cities from 2011 to 2019. Using a chain intermediary effect model and spatial model, we have discovered that intelligent development can help reduce the mismatch of human capital, with the most significant contribution coming from the improvement of infrastructure. This positive impact is facilitated by two pathways - income structure adjustment and factor flow. Areas with a similar economic base enjoy the beneficial spillover effect of mismatch correction, while the proximity of geographic location exacerbates the degree of mismatch due to the siphon effect.
