Simple HTML Chess Game

This is a simple HTML chess game. To play, simply click on the piece you want to move and then click on the square you want to move it to.

Game Play

To move a piece, first click on the piece you want to move. The squares that piece can legally move to will be highlighted in green. Then click on the square you want to move the piece to. The piece will move to that square if the move is legal.

Rules

This game follows standard chess rules. Here are some important rules to keep in mind:

• The king can move one square in any direction.
• The queen can move any number of squares diagonally, horizontally, or vertically.
• The rook can move any number of squares horizontally or vertically.
• The bishop can move any number of squares diagonally.
• The knight can move in an L-shape, two squares in one direction and then one square perpendicular to that.
• The pawn can move one square forward, or two squares forward if it hasn't moved yet. Pawns capture diagonally one square forward.
