Simple HTML Chess Game

This is a simple HTML chess game that you can play in your browser. To move a piece, simply click on it and then click on the square where you want to move it.

Game Board

The game board is an 8x8 grid of alternating black and white squares. The pieces are placed on the board at the beginning of the game according to standard chess rules.

Pieces

The pieces are represented by unicode characters that look like chess pieces. Here are the characters for each piece:

• King: ♔ (white) or ♚ (black)
• Queen: ♕ (white) or ♛ (black)
• Rook: ♖ (white) or ♜ (black)
• Bishop: ♗ (white) or ♝ (black)
• Knight: ♘ (white) or ♞ (black)
• Pawn: ♙ (white) or ♟ (black)

How to Play

1. Click on the piece you want to move.
2. Click on the square where you want to move the piece.
3. If your move is legal, the piece will be moved to the new square.
4. If your move is not legal, the piece will not move and you will need to choose a different move.

Rules

The game follows standard chess rules, including:

• Pawns may move one or two squares on their first move.
• Pawns capture diagonally and move forward.
• The king may castle with a rook under certain conditions.
• Check and checkmate are enforced.
• Stalemate is enforced.
