Case Report: Fungal Infection of Hands and Feet - Diagnosis and Treatment

Patient Information:

A 25-year-old female presented to the clinic with a three-week history of itching and peeling skin on her hands and feet. She reported no history of fever, chills, or any other associated symptoms.

Physical Exam:

On physical exam, the patient had widespread erythematous and fissured skin on her hands and feet. There was no lymphadenopathy or other signs of systemic involvement.

Laboratory Findings:

A skin biopsy was done which revealed a fungal infection.

Treatment and Outcome:

The patient was started on antifungal medication and her symptoms resolved over the course of two weeks.
