Engineering Student Seeks Service-Learning Opportunity in Cambodia to Develop STEM Skills and Immerse in Culture
-
As an Engineering student, I am passionate about STEM and eager to share my knowledge with children who are thirsty for knowledge. I believe that practice makes perfect, and through this service-learning opportunity, I hope to not only enhance my STEM skills but also develop my social abilities, leadership qualities, and ability to have fun while learning and interacting with children.

This service-learning opportunity also presents a chance for me to broaden my horizons and gain a deeper understanding of Cambodia. As a country with close ties to China, Cambodia has always been a place that I have wanted to visit. I am particularly drawn to the warmth and simplicity of its people and the natural beauty of the country. By immersing myself in this environment, I hope to reduce my anxiety and gain a fresh perspective on life in contrast to the fast-paced society of Hong Kong.

While I have always wanted to engage in volunteer teaching activities during the summer, my academic commitments have limited my availability to only a portion of August. Thus, many volunteer opportunities have been incompatible with my schedule. However, this service-learning opportunity not only aligns with my interests and major in STEM but also fits my available timeframe, making it an ideal choice for me. I am extremely eager to be selected for this program.
