Engaging English Salon for Elementary & Middle School Students

This course is designed to help elementary and middle school students improve their English speaking and listening skills in a fun and interactive way. Each week, students will engage in various activities and discussions that will help them build their vocabulary, grammar, and pronunciation. The course will be conducted entirely in English, and students will be encouraged to speak and participate as much as possible.

Week 1: Introduction and Icebreakers

• Introduction to the course and the instructor
• Icebreaker activities to get to know each other
• Basic conversation skills: greetings, introductions, and small talk

Week 2: My Family and Friends

• Vocabulary related to family and friends
• Describing people: physical appearance and personality
• Role-playing activities: introducing family members and friends

Week 3: My Hobbies and Interests

• Vocabulary related to hobbies and interests
• Expressing likes and dislikes
• Group discussions: sharing and comparing hobbies and interests

Week 4: My School and Classroom

• Vocabulary related to school and classroom
• Describing classrooms and school facilities
• Role-playing activities: asking for and giving directions, asking for help

Week 5: My Daily Routine

• Vocabulary related to daily routines
• Telling time and using prepositions of time
• Group activities: describing daily routines and comparing schedules

Week 6: My Favorite Food and Drinks

• Vocabulary related to food and drinks
• Expressing preferences and ordering food in a restaurant
• Role-playing activities: ordering food and drinks in a restaurant

Week 7: My Travel Experience

• Vocabulary related to travel and transportation
• Describing travel experiences and destinations
• Group discussions: sharing and comparing travel experiences

Week 8: Final Project and Wrap-up

• Final project: students will prepare and present a short speech or presentation on a topic of their choice
• Course wrap-up: students will reflect on what they have learned and set goals for future English learning

Assessment: Students will be assessed based on their participation in class activities, their ability to speak and understand English, and their final project presentation.
