International Student Trends: Canada vs. USA (2002-2004)

The table compares the number of international students studying in Canada and the USA between the average 2002-2003 and 2003-2004. In general, Canada had more Chinese students while the USA had more Indian students.

According to the first graph, in Canada, the number of Chinese students almost doubled more than that of the USA, with 10 thousand versus 5.5 thousand in 2002-03, and both of which had increased by 2% by 2003-04. Although the percentage from India had shown a staggering 7% rise over these years, the number was still the lowest (2,140 students).

However, among all students learning in the USA, Indians made up the highest partition, with 188 thousand, and this percentage had incremented by a surprising 10% in 2003-04. In contrast, the percentage of China had dropped by 8%, declining from 90 to 87 thousand over these particular years. However, there was not much change for Canadian students, only a 1.5% increase.

To sum up, the total number of international students in the USA was much higher (20 times) than that in Canada, indicating the difference in education.
