Refrigerated Container Inspection Report: Temperature Discrepancy and Postponement
Upon receiving the assignment, we immediately contacted the designated consignee and learned that the inspection was scheduled for that afternoon. We accompanied the consignee to the designated location, arriving at their cold storage at 13:00.
On-site inspection of the container's appearance and operation revealed that the container was in generally good condition, with the exception of a few dents, repair marks, and a damaged drain valve. The refrigeration unit was functioning properly, with the panel displaying a set temperature of -20 degrees Celsius. The return air temperature during the inspection was measured to be approximately -4 degrees Celsius.
However, the consignee claimed that upon delivery, the return air temperature had exceeded 20 degrees Celsius and was accompanied by a foul odor. A strong odor was still detectable near the container on-site. The consignee then received instructions from the shipper requesting that the lead seal not be removed before the arrival of the insurance inspector. Consequently, the inspection was postponed.
We have just received an update from the consignee this morning, stating that the inspection has been rescheduled for tomorrow morning at 10 o'clock. Our qualified inspector, Yin Mengfei, will be attending the inspection. Thank you for your understanding.
