勇敢少年保护鱼鹰巢穴，阻止偷蛋者

He was going to row over to the ospreys' island! Mike and I just stood there, frozen in shock, as we watched the man inflate his boat. We knew that disturbing the ospreys' nest was illegal and dangerous, and we couldn't let him get away with it. But what could we do? We were just two teenage boys, and he was a fully-grown man with a bag full of God-knows-what.

Suddenly, the man stopped inflating the boat and looked up. We quickly ducked behind some bushes, hoping he hadn't seen us. But as he started to walk towards us, we knew we had to act fast. I whispered to Mike to run back to the village and call the police, while I stayed behind to keep an eye on the man. I knew it was risky, but I couldn't let him harm those beautiful birds.

Seeing him climbing up the tree, I knew it was the time to call the police. My heart was racing as I fumbled with my phone, trying to dial the emergency number. I could hear the man cursing and grunting as he tried to climb the tree, and I knew I had to act fast. Finally, the operator answered, and I quickly explained the situation. Within minutes, two police officers arrived on the scene and apprehended the man.

As it turned out, the man was a collector of rare eggs, and he had heard about the ospreys' nest from a fellow collector. He had driven all the way from London to try and steal the eggs, not realizing that he was breaking the law. Thanks to our quick thinking and bravery, the ospreys were safe, and the man was arrested and charged with attempted theft.

From that day on, Mike and I became local heroes, and our love for birdwatching grew even stronger. We knew that we had a duty to protect these beautiful creatures, and we were proud to do our part. And as we cycled home that day, we felt a sense of accomplishment that we would never forget.
