保护鸟类，从我做起：观鸟爱好者揭露偷鸟蛋行为

He was going to row over to the ospreys' island! Mike and I exchanged a look of shock and disbelief. Was this man really planning to disturb the nesting ospreys? We watched in horror as he began to paddle his way towards the island in his inflatable boat. The ospreys were clearly agitated by his presence and began circling the island, calling out in warning.

Seeing him climbing up the tree, I knew it was the time to call the police. Mike and I quickly made our way back to our bikes and raced back to the village to alert the authorities. When we arrived at the police station, we were out of breath and shaking with fear. We explained to the police what we had seen and they immediately dispatched a team to Redman's Pools. The man was arrested and charged with disturbing a protected species. The ospreys' nest was carefully monitored by the RSPB and the ospreys went on to successfully raise their young.

Mike and I learned a valuable lesson that day about the importance of protecting wildlife and the role we can play in preserving our natural environment. We continued to enjoy birdwatching at RP, but we always remained vigilant and ready to report any suspicious activity. Our passion for birdwatching had taken on a new purpose, and we were proud to be part of the effort to protect our feathered friends.
