Mother's Day Kindness: A Flower Makes a Difference
After a moment, the elderly lady was taken into an ambulance, and we left the scene. As we walked back to the car, Tenyson turned to me and said, 'Mom, I feel really happy that we helped that lady today.' I was proud of him and felt happy myself, knowing that we had made a difference in someone's life.
One year later, on Mother's Day, we received a letter in the mail. It was from the elderly couple we had helped at the supermarket. In the letter, they thanked us again for the flower and for our kindness that day. They also shared with us that the woman had made a full recovery and they were both doing well.
Tenyson was thrilled to receive the letter and he said, 'Mom, we really made a difference. Our small act of kindness made them feel better.' I nodded and said, 'Yes, it did. And that's what Mother's Day is all about. It's about showing love and kindness to others.'
From that day on, Tenyson and I made it a tradition to do something kind for someone else on Mother's Day. We would buy flowers for strangers, donate to charities, or simply lend a helping hand to someone in need. And every time we did something kind, we remembered the elderly couple we had helped at the supermarket and how our small act of kindness had made a big impact on their lives.
