Joe Biden's Age in Politics: From Young Senator to Oldest President

Biden became a senator at the age of 30 after winning the Senate election in Delaware in 1972. He was the youngest person ever elected to the U.S. Senate at the time.

His path to presidency, however, took a much longer trajectory. Biden had a long and distinguished career in politics and public service, serving as a senator for 36 years and as Vice President under Barack Obama for eight years. He ran for president multiple times before finally achieving success in his 2020 campaign. At the age of 79, he became the oldest person ever elected to the presidency in the United States.
