Senator's Wine-Fueled Workday: A Satirical Poem
Oh, Senator, how doth thou pass the time, Sipping on wine, while the country's in its prime? Doth thou not have bills to sign and laws to make, Instead of chugging wine like a drunken rake?
Perhaps thou thinketh it adds to thy charm, To sip on Merlot while doing no harm, But I assure thee, the people do not agree, They want thee to work, not drink endlessly.
We sent thee to Capitol Hill to represent, Not to indulge in a lavish lifestyle that's decadent, The nation needs leaders who are clear-headed and wise, Not those who drink wine and tell silly lies.
So put down the glass and pick up thy pen, Start drafting laws that will help us all win, For the future of our nation is in thy hands, And we need thou to work, not drink like a band.
