A Life Abjured: A Story of Escape from Materialism

The abject poverty that he grew up in made him abhor and abominate materialistic possessions. He decided to abjure his previous lifestyle and live an abiding life of simplicity. He sold all his possessions and started living aboveboard. However, his decision was met with disapproval from his family, who tried to abnegate his choices.
