Research Experience and Clinical Skills: A Nursing Student's Path to Public Health
As a nursing student preparing to pursue a cross-disciplinary graduate degree in public health, I have had the opportunity to participate in several research projects and gain valuable experience in the field. One of the most notable projects I've been involved in is a national-level initiative focused on developing a self-management plan for COPD patients in their stable phase. Through this project, I gained a deep understanding of the importance of patient-centered care and the role of effective communication in promoting positive health outcomes.
In addition, I have also completed training in ICH-GCP and participated in a GCP training program hosted by the Chinese Pharmaceutical Association. This has given me a solid foundation in research ethics and good clinical practice, which will be invaluable as I continue to pursue research opportunities in the future.
During my internship at the affiliated hospital of Hangzhou Normal University, I had the opportunity to attend multiple lectures across various departments. These lectures were focused on analyzing and intervening in clinical cases, and I was able to contribute to the discussion by sharing my insights and observations. I also had the chance to deliver a presentation on my own research project, which helped me develop my communication skills and ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner.
Overall, I believe that my experience in research, training in good clinical practice, and exposure to a variety of clinical settings have provided me with a strong foundation for pursuing further study in public health. I am eager to build on these strengths and continue to contribute to the field through my research and practice.
