Research Experience & Strengths for Public Health Graduate Studies - Nursing Student
As a nursing student preparing for the cross-disciplinary entrance exam in public health, I have accumulated a range of research experiences that have equipped me with several strengths in the field. Firstly, I was involved in a nationally-funded research project, where I contributed to a 'self-management program for COPD stable phase patients based on their information needs.' This experience helped me to develop skills in developing and implementing evidence-based interventions that are tailored to the specific needs of patients.
Additionally, I have experience in conducting clinical research, as I hold an ICH-GCP certificate and have participated in GCP training organized by the Chinese Pharmaceutical Association. This training has given me a solid understanding of the ethical and regulatory principles that govern clinical research, which will be invaluable in designing and executing future studies.
During my internship at Hangzhou Normal University Affiliated Hospital, I had the opportunity to participate in several small lectures across different departments. These sessions were led by experienced clinicians who analyzed and intervened based on clinical cases, which allowed me to develop a deeper understanding of the practical applications of research findings.
Lastly, I had the opportunity to lead a community-based research project focused on preventing falls in elderly populations, which, although not awarded, taught me important lessons in project management and collaboration.
Overall, my research experiences have honed my skills in developing and implementing evidence-based interventions, conducting clinical research, understanding ethical and regulatory principles, analyzing and intervening based on clinical cases, and managing research projects. I am confident that these strengths will enable me to excel in a graduate program in public health, where I can further develop and apply my skills to improve the health outcomes of diverse populations.
