Why I Chose Public Health: A Nursing Student's Journey to Fudan University

As a nursing undergraduate student, I realized that while nursing plays a crucial role in patient care, it is only a part of the larger picture of healthcare. I wanted to broaden my understanding of healthcare beyond the bedside and gain a deeper understanding of the social, environmental, and economic factors that affect health outcomes. Public health and preventive medicine offer a holistic approach to healthcare that aligns with my passion for improving healthcare outcomes for individuals and communities. By studying public health and preventive medicine, I hope to be part of a larger effort to address healthcare disparities and promote health equity.
