Optimising Port Operations: Reducing Crane Bridge Movements and Truck Waiting Times
Researched prevalent issues of irrational crane bridge movements and extensive container truck waiting times. Established a mathematical planning model to minimise the cost of crane bridge movements and truck waiting times. Employed genetic algorithm for analysing various intelligent algorithms to solve the model. Programmed the model in MATLAB, using a similar approach to the travelling salesman problem. Numerical experiments have validated that the model can reduce port operation costs by approximately 12%, enhancing operational efficiency.
