Statin Therapy and Cardiovascular Risk: HDL-C vs Lp(a)
The initial investigation revealed that there was no significant correlation between HDL-C and cardiovascular risk among patients undergoing active statin therapy. However, a subsequent study discovered that heightened levels of Lp(a) were linked to a higher residual risk of CVD in patients receiving effective statin therapy.
